Day Event "Cultural and Scientific Heritage: The Science and Technology Museum as a Tool for Teaching and Promoting the French Cultural Values"

The event "Cultural and Scientific Heritage: The STM as a tool for teaching and promoting the French cultural values" was completed with great success on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Science and Technology Museum. It was organized in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs of Secondary Education of the Prefecture of Achaia and the Patras Branch of the French Institute of Athens, in the context of a tribute to the French.

Initially, the participants were given a tour of the STM and the temporary exhibition "La Bande Dessinée - the French look at comics", in groups.

Speeches were heard by Georgia Petropoulou, Director of the French Institute of Patras "Modern French and its goals", Peny Theologi-Gouti, Arch. Engineer-Ethnologist, Curator of the STM. "The contribution of the STM of the UP to the promotion of the cultural values of the French", Vasiliki Papagianni, French Language Teacher, Experimental High School of the UP, "Museum and school, an interactive relationship in the implementation of a cultural program for Jules Verne".

The students of the Experimental High School of UP who participated in the Cultural program for Jules Verne presented their experiences and guided us from a distance in museums related to Jules Verne.

The event included a teleconference with Marc Atallah the director of the Maison d'Ailleurs (House of Elsewhere), the museum of science fiction in Yverdon-les Bains, Switzerland.

The event was attended by students from Kastritsi High School, Experimental Junior High School and High School and other interested parties. Also present was the French Director of Vinci Company Mr. Pierre Morand with his wife and associates.
