Science & Technology Museum, University of Patras Campus, Greece

The Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras and the Department of Geology of the University of Patras and the French Institute of Greece - Patras Branch organized a temporary exhibition entitled “Small Waste in the Mediterranean” & “The portrait of marine plankton” at the Science and Technology Museum. The following organizations contributed to the design of the exhibition: Expédition Med, Tara Ocean, and Mediterranean SOS.

Introduced was the Mediterranean, which is the largest and deepest semi-enclosed sea in the world. Its communication with other seas is limited, which is why it is vulnerable to pollution. Marine biodiversity is high and many of the species we encounter are endemic. Excessive concentration of human activities has led to the degradation of the natural environment, with the result that many of the marine species and ecosystems are threatened.

Within the framework of the exhibition, specially designed educational events were implemented for each level of education.
