On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at noon, the Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy in Greece and the Director of the French Institute of Greece, Mr. Nicolas Eybalin, accompanied by the Director of the French Institute of Patras, Mrs. Georgia Petropoulou-Conan, in honor of the longtime collaboration with the French Institute, visited the Science and Technology Museum, University of Patras. They were welcomed at the Museum by the Director Ioannis Iliopoulos, Associate Professor in the Department of Geology, the curator of the Museum, Mrs. Peny Theologi-Goutis, and the staff. Unfortunately, the Dean of the Department of Natural Studies was not able to be present due to an unexpected circumstance.
The curator of the Museum, Mrs. Peny Theologi-Gouti toured the guests in the permanent exhibition of the Museum “Telecommunications in our lives”, and the Temporary Exhibition “Our Solar system”, co-organized by the Museum and the French Institute. Mr. Eybalin showed a special interest in the way the Museum has developed and the way it operates by connecting the three levels of education through the popularization of Science and Technology. He was also informed of the important long-term collaboration of the Museum with the French Institute and in particular, the Institute of Patras which has offered to the public of Patras exhibitions from France on topics relating to science, environment and the Arts, and educational activities that are designed and offered to schools, in collaboration with groups of students.
The Director of the French Institute of Greece was very excited by this partnership and assured everyone that he will support the continuation, strengthening, expansion, and other collaborations.
