The Awards Ceremony of the Panhellenic Photography Competition and the Opening of the "Tele-communicate" Photography Exhibition took place with great success on Saturday, June 11 in the afternoon, at the Science and Technology Museum (STM) of the University of Patras.
The event was organized by the Science and Technology Museum (STM) of the University of Patras in collaboration with the Friends Association of the STM, UP, the Directorate of Secondary Education of Achaia, the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Directorate of Primary Education of Achaia and the Patras Visual Artists Association in the context of the Celebration of the International Museum Day "Museums and Cultural Landscapes".
The event was opened by the Director of the Science and Technology Museum, Professor E. Vitoratos, while greeted by the representative of His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostom, Father Efstratios and the President of the Friends Association, Assistant Professor E. Pyrgiotis. The rich program of the event opened with a speech by the Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Evangelos Dermatas, on the topic: "Underwater photography: The hidden feast of colors".
This was followed by the awarding of Prizes for the three categories of the Competition.
Awarded in the Children's category:
1st Prize: "Tele .... communicating from the past", Kyriakoulakos A, Thessaloniki
2nd Prize: "Morse code communication in the past", Matzaraki A, Thessaloniki
3rd Prize: "I telecommunicate time and distance I win", G. Gitziri, N. Heraklion, Athens
In the category of Adolescents:
1st Prize: "At the Animal-shed", Fivos Pentes, Patmos
2nd Prize: "From 1960 to 2016", Theodora Kakava, Patra
3rd Prize: "Untitled", Athena Oikonomou, N. Psychiko, Athens
and in the Adult category:
1st Prize: "Communication Window", Vasiliki Feidopoulou, Preveza
2nd Prize: "Magic", Maria Limniati Maroussi, Athens and
3rd Prize: "Units", Ioanna Apostolopoulou, Rethymno
The event culminated with a concert that was kindly offered by three talented musicians: Elena Droukopoulou, piano, Athena Adamopoulou, vocals and Ouranias Kavvadia, flute with works by Hatzidaki, Theodoraki and Kokkotou. The successful Concert gave a very festive atmosphere to the event.
The event was watched live on the Internet by many participants in the competition, as well as artists from all over Greece.
A small reception followed and the visitors had the opportunity to tour the premises of the STM and see up close the permanent exhibition and the temporary photo exhibition "Tele-communicate".
