Science & Technology Museum, University of Patras Campus, Greece
With great success, the event entitled "Does the Internet unite us or divide us?" was held at the Science and Technology Museum on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The event was organized in the framework of the Health Education Network of Primary Schools of Achaia "Does the Internet unite us or separate us?" In collaboration with the Science and Technology Museum and the Department of Health Education of Primary Schools of Achaia. The primary schools of 1st Akrata, 1st,18th and 24th of Patras participated.
In the context of the event, the students, after the presentation, gained knowledge of when the Internet unites us and when it divides us, and after giving some thought, they discussed whether we should allow it to separate us. The students were then divided into small groups in order to take part in the experiential workshops. With the help of the inspiring students (who do internships or volunteer at the STM), they examined a story about alienation on the Internet and with the contribution of art (collage, theater, history, pantomime, painting) they gave their own ending to the story. Thereby, setting priorities in their daily lives and learning how to use the Internet in a way that unites and not divides.
