Local Photography Competition on the theme: “Capturing the Water Systems of My Country”

The Science and Technology Museum  (STM) of the University of Patras and the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia – Environmental Education organized a Local Photography Competition on the theme:
“Capturing the Water Systems of My Country.”

The objectives of the competition are:

• for students to become familiar with the aquatic ecosystems of their region,

• to understand the importance of water ecosystems formed by rivers and lakes,

• to discover how vital it is to protect aquatic ecosystems, as well as to save water in its use,

• to become aware of the direct and indirect contribution of aquatic systems to human well-being and, more broadly, to the sustainable development of their homeland.

Within this framework, student environmental groups from schools in Achaia are invited to:

• explore the water systems of their homeland,
• capture the aquatic ecosystems through photographs,
• provide a title, caption, and brief information for each photograph.
