  Science & Technology Museum, University of Patras Campus, Greece

The Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras, the Department of Health Education of Primary Education of Achaia, the Patras Visual Artists Association  and Primary Schools of Achaia organize for the school and academic year 2018-2019, the Health Education Network "Brain, the Master of Life".

Aim of the network:

1. An introduction of the brain.

2. The popularization of the science of the brain and the use of the visual arts as alternative ways of understanding it.

3. The interdisciplinary approach of the brain.

Areas to be covered by the network:

  • How the brain works
  • Is the brain Art? Is it a science?
  • The refined network of neurons
  • The plasticity of the brain is a source of beauty
  • Learning through beauty
  • The memory

Projects: at least three works of art that are related to the topic described above.

Activities that will include the network:

  • Training Day with an experiential seminar for teachers interested in participating in the network in December, Wednesday or Monday afternoon, at the STM.
  • Participation of students-teachers in an educational program in the exhibition "The brain with all its flashes" at the STM. The exhibition is offered by the Neuroscience Society of Paris with the support of the French Institute of Patras and the collaboration of the Neuroscience Team of the University of Patras.

• Final event for Museum Day. In the final event, the teams will exhibit and present their projects in an open event that will take place at the Science and Technology Museum.
