Cultural Network "Science through Theater"

The Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras, the Department of Cultural Affairs of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia and Schools of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia organize for the school and academic year 2018-2019, the Thematic Cultural Network "Science through Theater".

Objectives of the Network:

1) The popularization of Science and the use of alternative means - ways

such as theater for its understanding.

2) The discovery of the deeper relationship and the possibility of "cooperation" of culture and science.

3) The interdisciplinary approach of scientific fields / sectors.

Suggested Areas for the network:

Inventors and / or inventions related to the following areas are suggested:

• Electromagnetism
• Optics
• Wave
• Sound and light
• Communication
• Telecommunications

Participants have the opportunity to choose other relevant areas.

Projects: A short play (up to 15') that gives a concept, a process, an experiment, the life or part of the life of an inventor or a combination of the above, etc. from one of the domains as described above. The project will also be submitted to the Science and Technology Museum and can be used as educational material.

Activities that will include the network:

• Training Day with an experiential seminar for teachers interested in participating in the network, at the STM.
• Participation of students-teachers in at least one of the educational programs of the STM.

• Final event for Museum Day. In the final event, the teams will exhibit and present their projects in an open event that will take place at the Science and Technology Museum.
