On Friday, March 10, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., the event “The car in our lives” will take place at the Science and Technology Museum, with the opening of the temporary exhibition “Discovering the French car through the collections of the National Motor Museum of Mulhouse in France”
The event/inauguration is co-organized by the University of Patras, Science and Technology Museum and the French Institute of Greece in Patras as part of the Francophonie Celebration, in the presence of the French Language Advisor of the French Embassy.
The event will begin with greetings. Then there will be speeches by: Véronique Bruez, French Embassy Attaché, French Language Cooperation, “La Francophonie:”, Dimitris Mourtzis, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras, “From Carriage to Car: The Evolution of the Car and the pioneering role of the French Automobile”, Christos Kordoulis, Professor, Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras, “Beyond fossil fuels”, Fotios Pettas, Police Deputy Director, Department of Transport, Mechanical Engineer, “Road Safety and Traffic Education”.
The event will close with the excellent Duet, consisting of Maria Nikolopoulou, piano and Villy Tzoufa, on mandolin, who will perform in their own special way Greek and foreign music pieces, giving the event a festive tone. This will be followed by guided tours of the temporary exhibition and a small reception.
