The Science and Technology Museum participated with the theme topic "Wind Energy" in the nationwide event of the Ministry of Culture "Environment and Culture: Wind’s Breath" from October 18-22, 2017. The aim of the event was to highlight the natural and cultural wealth of the country and to raise public awareness of its protection.
On Sunday, October 22, at 7.00 p.m., a Conference on "Wind Energy-Green Energy" was held. Interesting speeches were heard at the event by George Leftheriotis, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, UP, "Wind energy: technology and applications", Dr. Michalis Bourdoulis, Electrical Engineer & TY – Economist, Assoc. Head of Exploitation, Patras Region, Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO SA), Postdoctoral Researcher-University Fellow of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UP, "Electricity from production to consumption and the contribution of wind systems" and Dr. Panagiotis Papastamatiou, CEO of the Hellenic Wind Energy Association, (HWEA/ELETAEN) and Andrea Vlamaki, Project Development Manager, Environmental & Renewable Energy Expert at Energy Technology & Constructions S.A. (ENTEKA SA) "Aeolic park on Mount Panachaiko: 11 years of harmonious coexistence of nature and wind turbines".
