The event: "Water: a commodity without limits" was held with great success on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Science and Technology Museum (STM) of the University of Patras. The event was co-organized by the Science and Technology Museum and the French Institute of Patras in the context of World Water Day and International Francophonie Day, as the main event of the exhibition "Water in all its states".
In the crowded auditorium, the Director of the Science and Technology Museum opened the event. Afterward, the Vice-Rector Professor George Angelopoulos for Student Welfare & Infrastructure, Energy & Sustainability greeted, emphasizing the importance of the museum for the extroversion of the University of Patras and its connection with society, while the Director of the French Institute of Patras Ms. Georgia Petropoulou-Conan praised the collaboration of the French Institute with the STM and presented the French organization.
The main part of the event was opened by the Choir of the students of the French Institute of Patras giving a happy tone with the French song "C 'EST DE L' EAU". Interesting speeches were heard by Eleni Zagana, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, UP, "Water is life-giving, water is defenseless", Vangelis Tzanato, Lecturer, Department of Biology, UP, "Water, the magician of life", and Hrissi Karapanagioti, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, UP, "Water Pollution".
The event culminated with a concert by the Children's Choir of the Music School of Patras under the direction of the musician of the school Mrs. Aretousa Nikolopoulou, while Mrs. Eleni Verra accompanied the piano. The Choir performed in excellence a rich repertoire of Greek and international songs.
In the end, the visitors had the opportunity to tour and be guided in the premises of the STM and to see up close the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition "Water in all its situations".
