The event "Volunteering and Society: STM honors its volunteers and sponsors" was held with great success on Saturday, December 3, at the packed Auditorium of the Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras (STM) in collaboration with the Friends Association of the STM.

The event was attended by many people, individuals and representatives of honored organizations, students, and friends of the Museum. The Director of the STM, Professor Evangelos Vitoratos and the President of the Friends Association of the STM, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology Eleftheria Pyrgioti gave a welcoming greeting. Then a speech was heard by Konstantinos Poulas, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy, UP on "Science and Technology Museum, Volunteers and Society: a two-way relationship" This was followed by the awarding of honorary diplomas to all those volunteers and sponsors, whose contribution supported the smooth operation of the Museum during the academic year 2015-2016.

The event ended with a concert by the award-winning Choir of the first Primary School of Kato Achaia, which gave a very festive atmosphere to the event with the wonderful interpretation of French, English Serbian and Greek songs by the young students. The inspiring musician of the School, Spyros Pettas, conducted the Choir. After the event, the public had the opportunity to tour the premises of the STM and see its permanent and temporary exhibitions, followed by a small reception.
