The event was held with great success on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, in the afternoon, at the Science and Technology Museum (STM) of the University of Patras:
"Volunteering, a way of life. STM honors its Volunteers”
Co-organized by the STM UP and the Association of Friends of the STM. The aim of the event was to honor all those who contributed voluntarily to the Museum during the academic year 2014-2015. The event was attended by many people, including students, teachers, members of volunteer organizations in Patras and members of the University community.
The event started with a keynote speaker Dr. Penny Panayotopoulou, Lecturer at the Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras, on "Why do we tend to help others?". This was followed by the awarding of diplomas to all those who contributed voluntarily to the Museum. The following were honored: Panagiotous Anthopoulos, Photographer, for the voluntary offer of a photo album of the STM photos as well as teachers, members of the University community, young scientific students, schools that collaborated with the Museum in the framework of thematic networks and sponsors.
The event closed with a concert by the excellent Female Vocal Ensemble Antiho and the Children's Choir, which was also honored for their kind offer. A small reception and guided tours at the permanent and temporary exhibition of the STM followed.
