Award Ceremony of the Panhellenic Competition "Neither Perpetrator nor Victim on the Internet"

With great success took place on Saturday, May 27th, at 7:30 p.m., in the packed Auditorium of the Science and Technology Museum (STM) of the University of Patras, the Award Ceremony of the Panhellenic Competition for Visual Creation, "Neither Perpetrator nor Victim on the Internet" and the exhibition of the works that participated in the Competition, as part of the Celebration of International Museum Day 2017, “Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums. The event and exhibition took place in collaboration with the Friends Association of the STM UP, the Departments of Health Education of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia and the Association of Visual Artists of Patras.

The event was attended by students, teachers and parents from the schools: 2nd Primary School of Agrinio, Erasmios Hellenic-German School of Bossos, Kantza Attica, All-Day Primary School of Diakopto, Zanneio Private Primary School of Heraklion, Crete, 3rd JHS of Salamina, 6th Vocational HS of Patras, 2nd JHS of Zakynthos, 4th JHS of Aigio that received an award or praise in the Competition. The event was honored by the presence of the representative of the Bishop of Patras, the Head of the Scientific and Pedagogical Guidance of Primary Education of Achaia of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr. Theofanis Valmas, teachers and many others.

The event's rich program opened with speeches by the School Informatics Consultant Dr.S.Papadakis, Director of the Regional Training Center of Patras, "CyberBullying: Causes, Effects and Treatment", and Assistant Professor of the Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras Dr. Xenia Arapaki, Visual Artist, "A Life Journey with Fine Arts". This was followed by the awarding of the Prizes for the Categories of Children and Adolescents of the Competition. Sponsors of the awards include Media Markt and Liaskos Evagelos ECO Engineering.

The event culminated with a brief performance by a group of students of the 12th HS of Patras "The house of the Soul". As part of the European program "Learning Science through Theater", the students with their advising teacher Despina Christakou, sociologist, wrote the script, dramatized the scenes, directed the play, did the scenes, the soundtrack and performance, the choreography, editing and filming. The play was distinguished with the "Screenplay Award for the year 2016-2017" for its participation in the competition in the category of videotaped performances.

In the end, visitors had the opportunity to tour the premises of the STM and see up close the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition "Neither Perpetrator nor Victim on the Internet".
