Introductory Event of Thematic Cultural Network of Volunteering

On Sunday, February 3, 2013, the Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras (UP) and the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Directorate of Secondary Education of Achaia co-organized the event "Acquaintance with Volunteering" for the school groups participating in the "Network for the volunteering of Secondary Schools centered on the STM". The event took place at the Science and Technology Museum of the UP, at 11:00 a.m.

In the context of the event spoke: Peny Theologi-Gouti, Curator of the STM, "Volunteering at the STM", Maria Nikolopoulou, Head of Cultural Education of Achaia, "Presentation of the Volunteering Network". Then volunteers presented their experience with Volunteering: Maria Kostourou, Kindergarten teacher, student of the Department. ATEI of Museology, STM Volunteer, "Volunteering and Museum: a relationship that concerns us", Marios Bikos, Student, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the UP, President of the Student Branch of IEEE UP, "Volunteer students: Promoting the Greek University and Technology", Representative from the NGO "The smile of the child" and Representative from the NGO "Embrace".

In the second part of the event, the students participated in one of the following experiential activities

• Documentation team
• Network poster design team
• Group of tours
