Science & Technology Museum, University of Patras Campus, Greece
The aim of the workshop was on the one hand to acquaint the primary school teachers and students with the educational programs of the STM addressed to the Kindergarten and Primary school classes, on the other hand, to understand the importance of museum education in the educational process and to learn to use the Museum more creatively. The workshop was addressed to teachers of Primary Education, as well as to the students of the Pedagogical Departments and was open to the public for anyone interested.
Speakers at the event were: Dimitris Kolliopoulos, professor of the Department of Educational Science and Early Childhood Education of the University of Patras, "The educational role of museums of science and technology", Andreanna Koufou, Head of the Department of Cultural Affairs of Primary Education of Achaia, "Museum and School Cooperation. A dynamic process of education", Peny Theologi-Gouti, Curator of the STM UP, "Science and Technology Museum: Educational Programs for Primary Education", Maria Kostourou, Kindergarten Teacher, Student of Museology, Maria Vlachopoulou, Teacher, volunteer at the STM, “The teacher in the role of a Museum educator: Organizing Educational Programs in a Museum space. For example, the Educational Program "The messages are hidden in the museum", Antigoni Chalkiopoulou, Gym teacher and Dora Dimitrouka, Music teacher, "The participation of Junior High School of Kastritsi in the Volunteering Network of Secondary Schools centered on the STM UP"
A discussion followed. The Conference closed with guided tours at the STM.
