The aim of the Conference is to get acquainted with the theory and practice of theatrical/ performing arts through the long-term activities of the International School of Theatrical Anthropology and the Odin Theatre. The International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) was founded in 1979 on an idea and under the artistic direction of Eugenio Barba: 'Theatrical Anthropology distinguishes the principles that the performer must apply to enable 'dance' of the senses and mind of the viewer. It is the duty of the performers to be aware of these principles and to relentlessly explore their practical possibilities. This is what their art consists of. It will be up to them to decide how and for what purpose they will use this 'dance'. This is their morality. Theatrical Anthropology does not give advice on ethics. It is the premise of morality.' (The performer’s village, 1996).
The 3rd International Congress of Theatrical Anthropology will participate with speeches and presentations by: Eugenio Barba, Julia Varley, Roberta Carreri, Stefano Di Buduo, Marco de Marinis, Piergiorgio Giacchè, Miranda Terzopoulou, Kostas Vantzos, Antonis Diamantis, Giorgos Sabatakakis, Maria Fragki.
The proceedings of the 3rd International Congress of Theatrical Anthropology are free to the public.
