Cultural Network "The Sciences through Art"

The Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras, the Departments of Cultural Affairs of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia, the Patras Visual Artists Association and Primary and Secondary Schools of Achaia organize for the school and academic year 2017-2018.

Objectives of the network:

1) The popularization of Science and the use of alternative means – using art for its understanding.

2) The discovery of the deeper relationship and the possibility of "cooperation" of culture and science.

3) The interdisciplinary approach of scientific fields / sectors.

Fields of science-Physics that the network will deal with: Electromagnetism, Optics, Wave, Sound and Light.

Arts with the help of which Science will be explored: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Mixed media, Engraving, Mosaic, Graffiti, Video art.

Projects: At least one project that attributes concept, process, experiment, etc. from one of the areas identified.

Activities that will include the network:

• Training Day with an experiential seminar for teachers interested in participating in the network.
• Participation of students-teachers in at least one of the Educational Programs at the STM.

• Final event for Museum Day. In the final event, the groups will exhibit and present their projects in an open event that will take place inside and outside the Museum.
