Objectives:

For students to get to know and study:

1. The history of radio and Greek radio. Understanding radio content and its contribution to communicating, entertaining, and informing people (across time and globally)

2. The ways and mechanisms of its operation.

3. The electronic components on which the operation of the radio is based and their role.

4. The different types of radio and broadcasting and their evolution over time

5. The social needs served by the radio per era.

6. The educational and pedagogical role of Radio (use in modern teaching and learning)

In addition, one of the goals is to strengthen the Museum-School relationship in the context of co-creation activities: Visiting the permanent collections of the STM to be a means of inspiration and education

Activities:

  • Experiential workshop for teachers and presentation of good practices in radio education.
  • Training Days for teachers on creative writing and digital creation. They will be implemented in person or through a platform, depending on the prevailing conditions, in the afternoon.
  • Selection of 1-3 literary books on the radio. Teachers work with their students on them and are inspired.
  • Educational visits and participation of student-teachers in at least one educational activity in the permanent exhibition of the Museum on radio or sound (in person or through a platform, depending on the prevailing conditions). This visit aims to acquaint students with the evolution and technology of radio through the permanent exhibition of the STM.
  • Creation of radio broadcasts through creative writing, writing and digital design. Teachers and students through the sounds, words and music of the radio are inspired and capture their ideas with produced works such as short radio shows, radio advertisements, and theatrical post-dramas.
  • Radio show
  • Final Event and digital exhibition of the works for the International Museum Day, in May 2023, in person or through a platform, depending on the prevailing conditions.
