An event to celebrate the European Day of Languages will take place on September 26, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Science and Technology Museum.
Language is perhaps the most important means of communication and expression of people and peoples and a means of expression of the culture of peoples that can be preserved and evolved. Europe includes a large number of languages and dialects, with multilingualism becoming a point of discussion, especially in the field of museums, for the preservation and dissemination of peoples' cultural heritage.
Four important institutions collaborate in this celebration and co-organize it: the Science and Technology Museum, the Regional Center for Educational Planning of Western Greece, the National Support Agency for eTwinning, and the French Institute of Greece in Patras.
In the hybrid event, school groups from the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia will participate both live and remotely.
The rich program of the event includes presentations of activities by the participating school groups, while all groups will participate by playing interactive games designed by the Educational Team of the French Institute of Greece in Patras.
We would like to thank the Foreign Language Education Consultants of Achaia Christina Diplari and Maria Tzotzou, as well as the English Language Education Consultant of Ilia (with the area of responsibility for Western Achaia) Kouzouli Sofia for their cooperation.
We thank the Director Gogo Petropoulou-Conan and the educational staff of the French Institute of Greece in Patras for their cooperation and especially for the planning and implementation of interactive educational games for the event.
